My favorite drink is an Iced Cafe Americano which is just two shots of espresso poured into ice water - fresh, bright and strong with a sweet finish.
My favorite sammich, hmmmm...there are so many - I'm going to go with turkey and avocado on sourdough. At least that's what I'm in the mood for right now.
Simple Cappuccino, you can tell a lot about a person by watching them as they make one. Really, it's a window into a persons soul, especially if they don't know how to make one.
I like soft breads but not white bread and I absolutely hate dry meats or bread made soggy from condiments used to hide how dry the meats are.
Nobody on the North Shore can stand bread from Sunray. Restaurants only buy it because it's cheap. These would be the same restaurants where the managers don't actually ever eat there. Avoid those kinds of places.
We have no money but at the same time we have a pant load of money and may be in a position to buy a third of a great business plan.
I don't really drink coffee, but my favorite hot drink is HOT cider with a tiny bit of cinnamon and some caramel flavoring stuff (out of those flavor bottles, know what I mean?). Yum.
Sandwiches. I could live on sandwiches for the rest of my life and never get bored or sick of them. I worked in a sandwich shop for years and have made hundreds if not thousands. I cannot choose a favorite. So I will list my favorite for each of the major meats:
Chicken: Chicken chopped into small bits, with gorgonzola, carmelized onions, mayo, dijon on foccacia.
Turkey: Turkey, cole slaw (with extra sugar and poppy seeds), russian dressing (kens) and swiss on marble (USE FANTINI!!!)
Ham: Ham spread out thin and cut thin, mayo, deli mustard, lettuce (prefer shredded), tomato, red onion, dill havarti or baby swiss cheese. Cheddar works too. On multigrain.
Roast Beef: On sub roll toasted with a little bit of oil. First add light mayo and deli mustard. Then put RB on bottom of previously toasted bread. Heat. Then add shredded lettuce. Heat. Then tomato, salt, pepper. Heat. Then American or Swiss. Heat. Shove top piece of bread on. Heat one more time to make the whole thing melt together. Eat quickly.
Also: Turkey Burgers. So good. So easy. So much better than beef. On toasted roll (I love all rolls equally) with a big fat tomato slice, melted cheddar and creamy-but-sharp mustard. And plenty of ketchup. Of course.
Half-sour pickles a MUST. Choice of chips or fruit should come with all sandwiches. Costs you a quarter and makes customers feel like they got their money's worth.
A Red Eye; coffee with a shot of espresso. Cream (not milk), no sugar thankyoumuch. Either hot or cold. Or a Chai Charger from Atomic Cafe in Beverly. It's chai mixed with a mocha latte (I think. It could be a mochacinno). It's spicy and mocha-y and lightly sweetened and yummy!
The Vegin Out Pixie from Front St is delish. Sprouts, tomatoes, carrots, cukes, lettuce, havarti cheese, and sweet vidali spread on scali bread.
Long ago when I worked at Treasure Chest I used to eat at Five Corners Deli a lot. My favorite was the Cucumber Cooler; hummus, cukes, sprouts, and tomatoes in a pita pocket. I also enjoyed the Avocado and Brie and the Brie and Roast Beef (served warmed so the cheese is soft). Okay, so brie is always a winner. Half sour (or just-barely-pickled) wedges are a big yes!
Back when Something Different was still around the Depot staff lived on their veggie melt. Broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, onions, and just a tiny bit of green pepper sauted till tender-crisp on a grinder roll with cheese (plain ole white american). Heaven!

Standard cup o' joe, medium roast, black.
Water, too, if I'm thirsty.
Sammich: I love bulkie rolls and crusty breads. Prefer toasted. Maybe turkey and swiss, or even just a cheese sandwich. Mustard a must.
Or grilled cheese.

Damn. Now I'm hungry.
Dean, I disagree about the Sunray - it's good eats.
I agree, however, about the cappuccino - I go NUTS when I hear and see them being made poorly.
I like Sunray bread too Dede!
